Nashville, Tennessee holds a special place in my heart. Shane and I were lucky enough to live there for two years and it was a chapter of self-discovery for us both. For one, it was our first move out of our home state of Florida. We moved not knowing a soul, which meant we really depended on each other. It meant that we spent every weekend exploring and eating. So much eating. It was actually really surprising to the both of us what a food scene Nashville had. New restaurants were always popping up with such beautiful aesthetics and even better tasting food. Nashville is a popular place to head for Bachelorette parties (check out my itinerary here) or a great place for a weekend getaway with girlfriends.
It doesn’t matter what day of the week or time it is, Broadway is always lively.
Nashville is also a popular place to visit, so our friends were always planning trips to see us. I started curating itineraries based on their preferences: the beer-loving friends, the wine lovers, the adventurers, the city slickers. The city is so well-suited for all sorts of visitors and it made each of their trips unique. The itinerary below is my top favorites from all of those adventures.
Day One in Nashville
Breakfast: Milk and Honey
AM Activity: Belle Meade Plantation and Winery
Lunch: Bar Taco
PM Activity: Take photos at the murals in 12 South
Dinner: Virago
Drinks: LA Jackson
Day Two in Nashville
Breakfast: The Southern
AM Activity: Pedestrian Bridge, RCA or Ryman Tour
Lunch: 5th and Taylor
PM Activity: Cheekwood Gardens
Dinner: Pinewood Social
Drinks: George Jones Museum or Acme
The Pedestrian Bridge is a cool way to check out the skyline (and the Batman building)!
What’s really interesting about Nashville is there are so many activity nodes throughout the city. Each neighborhood has something interesting to see or some place interesting to eat. It takes some coordination of plans so you’re not driving back and forth (and spending a fortune on Ubers). Instead, plan to have a meal and an activity in one node before moving on to another. Some of my favorite neighborhoods include: 12 South, the Gulch, Broadway, and Midtown.
